My worst mistake, was forgetting to unplug the cannister filter I was trying to get the end turned around on, because it was stuck from coraline growth, and having it come apart at the top, with water shooting everywhere, including down over the electrical wires from the skimmer and lights! NOT a fun thing to do!

My plugs were crackling, so I had to unplug everything, and clean and dry them all out, before plugging them back in!

Speaking of electrical encounters with water, hope you have a gfi outlet to your tank.

Actually, I have a them plugged into a grounded power strip, and I have one of my husbands meters to test for electricity! It was a matter of my dumbness, not unplugging FIRST!

the biggest problem is what started my algae problem from the get go....running tap water in the SW tank with a 6.7k PC bulbs running for atleast 12hrs never really changing the water and having the tank right in front of huge sliding doors(when it was sunny u could bearly see through the front glass before scraping it) needless to say my tank now that i've moved still has problems but the lights have timers they're all blue or 10k bulbs and they're not infront of the huge window lol

The biggest mistake I have made was not wearing gloves and getting poisoned from my sons tank!

When I was installing my tank I turned on the main circ pump before my dursos were screwed into the bulkhead. Old Faithful would have been proud.

I had one today... syphoning water out for a water change, I wasn't paying attn and got a mouth full! Yuck!!

Hahaa no, it's just Mistakes you've made..My biggest is still the syphoning to the floor that I wrote earlier! hahaha.

I wish that was my biggest mistake!
