Caulerpa with no light?!? someone?!

My refugium lighting blew out on me will those pose a threat to my tank if the lighting isnt repolaced soon?! How long do i have?!?!

The algae will die and be broken down by bacteria witch will spike your NH3, and so on.
I wouldn't rush out in a panic but don't dwadel around.

I think you have a few days, just get a 6500k household bulb from hardware store. Darkness makes Caulerpa go sexual which is the reason most people dont keep it. I learned the hard way

keep the lights on 24/7 or it will go sexual sooner or later.

yeah thats what i was told about he whole sexual thing....dont want that happening on me. went to menards (hate that place) and bought a 2 fixtures and some 100watt bulbs. i was actually told these are better than the coralife 2x65 watt power compacts i had on there. Does the color of the bulb make any difference? Its like a yellow hue and not a crisp white? Is that a stupid question? lmao sorry... never had this problem?!?!?

ok now you have me worrying about one more thing, I have caulerpa in my tank, and it has been dissapearing. Well, today I found where it went. My yellow watchamn hads collected it in his cave so there is a bunch in there, obviuosly no light gets in there so do I rip the reef apart and yank it out?

thats an interesting thing never heard of goby's taken macro to pull into their cave if its a tiny bit i wouldn't worry about it to much but i could be wrong
