| Tunicate | New Common Toadstool wasting/rotting? Hi, new here and in need of some suggestions... Have just added to large common toadstool to my tank, since adding it; first few days was fine, but has very quickly started to waste/rot on one edge?? I've tried to gently clean it off, but it's just started to rot again... any suggestions? I have leather corals, furry mushrooms and an Atlantic anenome that are all fine.. |

| Over Achiever | Re: New Common Toadstool wasting/rotting? Hi Welcome to the Sanctuary! Sounds like you are having a time with your new toadstool. The Search function is a great tool for finding answers to many questions. It took me 30 secs to find this: leather corals having problems All the best! |

| Sunshine Reefer | Re: New Common Toadstool wasting/rotting? Are you experiencing chemical warfare? With 2 leathers that would be my first guess. Are the two near each other? Regardless when keeping leathers you should be sure to run carbon frequently to remove the chemicals they produce.

| Tunicate | Re: New Common Toadstool wasting/rotting? Hi, Thanks for the comments. Sorry for the delay in responding. I have couple different leather's in the tank no issues with them, they keep growing and have split them couple times; though was thinking maybe the Atlantic Anemone might be more of an issue so have moved them further apart. I'll refresh the carbon, also going to try increasing the water flow... at least the rotting part seems less for the moment... |

| Sea Pen | Re: New Common Toadstool wasting/rotting? When I first got my toatstool it did the same thing. I contacted liveaquaria and they replyed to give it an iodione bath. I did, and it seemed to help. I am not saying to do this, i am just saying research and see if its for your situation!
