| Fire Coral | I have a DIY deal I've beeen knocking around. I like the idea of making a PVC "Rack" to keep LR off the floor of the tank.Several reasons,To reduce the amount of rock and to avoid dead spots and areas where detrietus would collect. I'm thinking of the possibility of running a pump into the "Rack" and having holes drilled so I'd get flow through and under the rock. Any ideas or critiques? |

| Limpet | Man those systems look like a science experiment gone awry. But seriously those are some killer stups you guys got going there. Most of my set up is DIY. The stand, canopy, lights, acrylic sump, CA reactor, top off. Not like any of the previous systems on this thread but I am happy with it. Click here for some of the DIY stuff. Mojos Reef DIY

| Fire Coral | thanks Thanks PRO_Builder. It took me about 8 12-hr days done over 4 consecutive weekends. Im happy with the results but working with wood is not as easy as I thought it would be.

| Fire Coral | yes ive been to one of those woodworking expos where the pros show you how to make cabinets and such.. they make it look so easy.. i think part of it is having the right tools (which I dont by a long stretch), but it definately helps when you do it everyday. let me tell you though.. there is nothing quite as nerve racking as running the last edge of completley finished panel door through a router using your homemade feather board!! ![]()

| DIY Moderator | I don't like mine, it is too plain, but was built in 2 days from start to finish, including setting the tank on top of it, stained and varnished. But, Thanks for the compliments.
