| Tubeworm | Re: Coral of the Week: Trachyphyllia (Open Brains) IMHE, the donuts brains (scolymia, cynarina) are much easier, then Trachyphillia. Non of trachs, that I bought (damaged, as most my LPS, $10-15), survived. Same conditions, other brains-type corals are OK, as well as other corals. RIP: ![]() ![]() Other brains, before and after: scolymia: ![]() cynarina: ![]() ![]() I assume, that this is Symphyllia valenciennesi: ![]() ![]() Provided care - same as for candycane, in basic mixed nano-reef, under sunlight and moderate PC lighting. |

| Tuxedo Urchin | Re: Coral of the Week: Trachyphyllia (Open Brains) These "Coral of the Week" threads are great! I just picked up a brain this week and had placed up half way up my rock work simply to add some color in that area of my display; however, after reading this I just moved it down to my sand bed and made sure it was shaded now to prevent bleaching. Thanks (-;

| Social Darwinism victim | Re: Coral of the Week: Trachyphyllia (Open Brains) I keep seeing that light whitish coloration with the neon pink, seems to be getting more plentiful in LFSs. Very pretty. Might investigate more for the next addition. later, later....
