| Hey!Its not my fault ![]() | OK I am really serious. I baught about 5 polyp rocks and some mushroom rocks. One by one the last week or two. The rocks ,polyps and all come up missing. When the first two came up missing I put the rest on the bottom of the tank thinking something at night is knocking them off and they fall in between the rocks somewhere. I never see them again. All rocks are gone. This weekend I baught a beautiful white and black featherduster. I checked it this morning it was on the bottom of the tank. I left today and just came home. I was gone fore about 4 hours and it to is gone. I can just see the tips of it sticking out from under a rock. I am just sick. The only thing I have that would be under the rocks is brittlestars!!!!!! I have 3 . One is about 3 years old and the other 2 are small, about the size of my palm of my hand. The one is big. Would that be taking rocks polyps any thing it could pull around? The rocks that are missing are about golf ball size or bigger and are all gone. I cant find them anywhere. Anyway, just venting. Ive never had this happen, where everything starts dissapearing. |

| Fire Coral | Re: Reef mystery, Really starting to get on my nerves. Eunicid worms are known to move rocks around and eat softies. Have you watched the tank with a flashlight with a red lense at night? Here's more info on them. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-04/rs/index.php |

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: Reef mystery, Really starting to get on my nerves. Keep us posted! It wouldn't hurt to set a trap... get a 2 liter jug and cut the top off to make a larger opening. Set the jug at an angle so the tip is up and it's at a steep angle; then put a piece of shrimp in the bottom. The idea is the 'thing' will be able to get in but won't be able to get out. GL!

| Limpet | Re: Reef mystery, Really starting to get on my nerves. I'm not sure I would want to find it if it's big enough to topple rocks and steal corals! (shivers) It could be an ickie sea monster But good luck on the hunt and capture. And post pictures when you get it!(as I get ready to tear my tank apart, shotgun in hand, to make sure I don't have one) ![]()

| Fish Addict ![]() | Re: Reef mystery, Really starting to get on my nerves. YUCK!!! Thats disgusting! If I ever come across one of those, the rock is in the trash without thinking twice. I won't even bother trying to get it out! Just the pictures of those give me shivers down my spine.

| Hey!Its not my fault ![]() | Re: Reef mystery, Really starting to get on my nerves. OHHHHHHH MMMMYYYYY no way not my tank. That is gross. If i see that I am gone. The last time i added new live rock was 4 years ago. It would be huge. I can feel nightmares coming on. I wonder if anything like that would even go in a liter bottle. It would stick its big head in and slither right out. That reminds me of a snake. OHH I hate snakes. Not good. I have to calm down |

| Fire Coral | Re: Reef mystery, Really starting to get on my nerves. Based on the picture, it looks like there are no visible segments. That typically means it's a ribbon worm (nemertean). I don't see any bristles on it. Nor do I see parapods for locomotion. Ribbon worms don't eat corals....they mainly eat other worms. |
