| Tunicate | Looking for xenias Does anyone know any good online stores for fish/corals ? I've had some bad experience with a few, and some good experience with liveaquaria.com . But liveaquaria is out of stock on xenias, could anyone suggest some other onlines stores that would be good ? ![]() |

| Totally stoked dude ![]() | Re: Looking for xenias I highly recomend ANY of our sponsors. I will tell you this though. Xenia is a notroriously poor shipper, even though it is a relatively easy to care for coral. In fact importing xenia is pretty expensive from a retail point of view. I therefor suggest taking a look around for local reef clubs to get Xenia locally. Most clubs have members that practically will give the stuff away, and you don't have to worry about opening up a bag of dead melted xenia.

Probably because your tank is so clean now. Let the xenia get used to the lower nutrients in your tank and I bet it will start taking off again in a few months. Kind of like when most people get their first xenia frag. Takes about a month to really attach and look like it starts growing. Then it takes another few months to grow at a slow rate. Then a few months later you realize it is everywhere and you need to start fragging.

I have succesfully received xenia shipments, not saying it is impossible, just wanted to warn.

| Totally stoked dude ![]() | Re: Looking for xenias I would keep using the polyfilter, espcially until you change the DI on your RO/DI system. I'm convinced it will start growing like a weed again, just give it time ![]() MIKE ![]()

| Tunicate | Re: Looking for xenias I'd love to track down some local marine clubs, although I really have no idea where to start ![]() Recently I had liveaquaria ship me a xenia, although sadly fedex screwed things up and it sat in a box for 2 days straight. Pretty much dead when I got it, trying to "revive" it now but I dont have much hope. All the polyps are grey when they should be white, although a couple of them are turning white. Maybe it will recover I'm still looking for more though, I love xenias! |
