| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: Clarkiis Eye Popeye maybe? A bacterial infection usually caused by trama and/or bad water conditions. If it were mine, I would immediatley do a large water change of 20-30% and test all parameters. You could remove the fish to a quarantine tank and treat it with a broad spectrum antibiotic but that would further stress the fish. Good luck and keep us posted.

| Tunicate | Re: Clarkiis Eye popeye is definately the usual cause and the most obvious, but this can also be caused by a kidney (or fishes equivelent) not working. this causes the fish to sometimes retain water and can lead to this happening in some cases. i have actually had this happen to a clarkii (fair coincidence) as well only for it to come good and return again periodically. At first i also seperated it and treated for popeye and had no sucess, but chances are yours does have popeye, good luck... |

| Wannabe Guru ![]() | Re: Clarkiis Eye Is the Clarkii a new addition ? It's common to have this condition due to trauma when netting the fish. You can use an antibiotic to treat him if you have a Quarantine tank or you may choose to let him recover providing good water quality, in some cases they may lose the eye depending on the severity.

| Tuxedo Urchin | Re: Clarkiis Eye Oi! Popeye is also a 'thing' that sometimes just happens with clownfish because of an irritation to the eye itself and not necessarily caused by disease. If the condition lasts for more than three days it might be an ailment, but if it goes away by itself, it was just an irritation to the eye. Cheers! nigle !~! |
