Lightbulb School Tank Mentors?

To all RS members!

I have been running a thread on a tank for my school. In the coming year I will be having my students (the whole science department really) working with it to enhance the cirrculum in my classes. The staff at RS has graciously donated a forum for our school (Thank you Witfull, Travis, Craig, Woodstock, Cheeks69, Gina...hope I did not forget anyone!) to use to post questions, advice, ect.

I was curious if any members would be interested in becoming mentors to students or groups of students? My idea is they could ask you directly and would take them under your wing. This will not take place until at least Septemeber. I believe this would be a small time commitment on your part, but you could certainly take if further if you wish. I will take care of the lesson part of it for you, so you are not having to worry about that aspect. You could add to it most certainly if you wish.

Please contact me directly or post it here and I will get back to you. I also encourage you if you are interested to check out the thread and see what has been happening - School Tank Progress

Cheers!

Idea!

Well I have an idea about mentors - This comes from Cougra - Thank you!

If anyone is interested in being a mentor, what about if you have an area of expertise that you would like to answer to? This may be water chemistry, fish (species specialties), soft corals, LPS, SPS, clams, goronians, anemones, filtration, supplements, lighting, ect. This may be more focused for those of you that may be interested. I plan on having my students learn about these concepts by doing research on them in these specific topics, but I think it would also be advantagous to be able to commincate with someone who is experienced.

I hope this may give more focus to what I am attempting on doing!

Cheers!

I would love to help out, share knowledge, and provide input on your project.I guess SPS/Clams would be my forte', H20 chemistry is also something I've loved explaining over the years.Anywhere I can be useful really, a lot of real time experience in the Aquarium maintainence industry.Look forward to seeing what you are teaching.

I will be happy to be the "resident" mentor as I live closest to the project. We can meet as a group to discuss things/answer questions in the tank room.
