Unhappy Carpet ate my porcupin puffer

who would have thought a capet cpould eat a porcupine puffer thought it would have killed them both but the carpet is fine

I put the puffer in my reef tank just overnite so I could fix his set up an by morning he was gone a day later the carpet spit out hte remains

well what do ya do really wanted that puffer



Looks pretty innocent doesn't it ???

Sorry to hear that

My sump light shines up through the bottom of my tank during the night hours. I think that helps my fish know where the carpet is and they can better avoid it.

It's a Stichodactyla gigantea i know they eat fish but the puffer was 4-5 in and has spines just kinda blew my mind also puffers are posionious if eaten by outher fish guess carpets don't count well such is life live and learn

Sorry to hear that! I took back a carpet we bought when we first started in salt water just for that reason. And the fact that they can get so big.
No more puffers for him!!!

Not sure I'll ask him and get back to you lol

Even if it eats my fish I won't get rid of it waited a long time to get that carpet plus it's awsome looking and as far as size it's about 18-20 inches when open fully

I'll have to get some pics
