I haven't kept one in a reef, however I have kept them with snails and hermits with no troubles.
the bluethroat and crosshatch are my favorite triggers.

"They should not pose a problem with corals in an aquarium and tend to have a more placid disposition than many of their triggerfish brethren."
If Advanced Aquarist says so it must be true.

I went to Japan and visited the Seapark in Yokohama. They had a display tank that was probably 8 foot long by 4 feet deep by 6 feet high that had a school of crosshatch triggers in it. I guesstimate about 20 triggers among other fish. Very cool tank.

Yes, I have kpet Bluethroat triggers in a reef packed with SPS with no problems at all. However, I can not say if they take a liking to crabs, shrimps etc as I have a birdmouth wrasse that has cleaned them up already. they are a fantastic fish, very alert, very inquisitive, very friendly . . . . . but a word of warning . . . . the are also very adventurous and I have heard many cases in the UK of bluethroats discovering the weir system to their detriment . . . . as mine did. I'm now trying to get hold of another male / female pair and I have weir defences in place. A gorgeous fish

Here's a pic of my male that I lost . . . . I was devastated as it took so long to get hold of him
