| Midas Blenny | ID Please! I don't have a dig. cam. so I will try to explain it. They are almost like worms, clear, kind of looks like a spaghetti noodle. They appear to be flat, maybe 6-8 in. long. Doesn't seem to bother anything they appeared in the last shipment of LR. They don't seem to be as large as a spaghetti noodle in diameter, very thin. Any idea anyone? |

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | Do these long tendrails come from live rock or from the substrate? Another possibility are tube snails called Vermetid gastropods. They are generally found in a white tube but can come directly from the rock itself (the tube would be formed inside the rocks pores) The strands are generally paired from each opening.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Here is a pic of my vermetid snail. You can see it lives inside the top of the rock and has it's "fishing line" out catching debris in the water.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Vermetid snails are not bad.... but I am not convinced that is what you have. My vermetid's 'fishing line' does not retract when a fish swims past/near it. I am thinking you may have spaghetti worms as Witty suggested. I have lots of those in my tank too (they are not bad either). Spaghetti worms do retract quickly when disturbed. Here is some info on spaghetti worms: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/polychaetes.htm Quote:
