| Reef Lobster ![]() | Anyone tried a zeovit system? Just found out about this a few days ago, seems interesting. All the products are German, hence the lag in time it has taken to reach the states. You can find out about it at: www.captiveoceans.com or read about it on wetwebmedia here. Perhaps it is old news, who knows... Take er easy Scott T.

| Totally back ![]() | Folks either rave about it or bash it. Mostly the SPS guys use it. It essentially is trying to accomplish a low/zero nutrient environment that should increase sps growth and coloration. They also include things to add to your tank like amino acids(nitrogen?) and other mystery stuff that is supposed to regulate color in certain corals like pocillopora. You could be opening an entire can of worms here Scott ![]() My personal take is that it is essnetially doing what people have been doing for a long time with TRUE berlin systems. Low nutrients, rapid waste removal etc. It is basically a system to accomplish the same thing SPS reefers have been trying to accomplish for a long time. I personally couldn't see spending the money on the system when I'm having good luck with my BB, wet skimmate and GFO. However I will admit, the folks running zeo have VERY nice tanks. I just think they could accomplish the same thing through other methods.

| Reef Lobster ![]() | Leave it to me to open another bag of worms I tend to agree though Mike, it looks like an extravagance, something that is perhaps useful but not at all neccesary. I do find the concepts interesting though... Take er easy Scott T. Quote:

| Totally back ![]() | I would never bash anyone for using it. It is obvious that it produces great results. I guess having earned a BS in marine bio tends to make one skeptical of any products that don't list exact ingredients or explain exactly how they work. I just think it is one route to develop a low nutrient tank. Different ways to do it. Also the plunging and dosing everyday turns me off. I'm lazy. I have an auto topoff for kalk. Dose CaCl or baking soda every so often when needed (maybe once a month...) As long as the detrius doesn't break down in the tank, everything seems happy.
