| Totally back ![]() | Only one way to find out! ![]() If you feel your tank chemistry is stable (ammonia, nitrite, nitrates, pH, alk, Ca) then by all means try out some hardy sps frags. The one year rule of thumb is meant as a discouragement to newcomers throwing in wild acro colonies into their first tank that has been setup for three months. That is a def. dead acro in most cases. I have setup tank and added sps much sooner than one year. It's all about providing the corals what they need. In the case of SPS corals it is good water quality, good water flow and light. Pretty simple in those terms. If you can meet those requirements then add some frags and find out what your tank is capable of keeping. don't be discouraged if you lose a frag or two, just figure out what you need to provide and do it ![]() Mike

| Totally back ![]() | Well just for research sake... I would recomend the following sps corals to start out with, and preferabbly frags or small captive grown colonies: Montiporas (any and all, they are all hardy). Poccillopora, Hydnophora, and if you want some acros some of the hardier ones would be millepora, most of the staghorns, slimers, and honestly most of the "ORA acros" seem to be hardy and more than willing to grow. HTH Mike
