Moving my 75g tank

What an experience!!!!!!!

My wife and I bought a house several weeks ago and are in the process of moving in. We nicknamed the 75g, "the beast" and it was supposed to be the last thing to be moved because of the 18in of snow on the ground.
My older brother rolled into town and said, lets move it, so we did and here is how we did it and may have been the totally wrong way to do it, but its done and now all I am doing is waiting for my water to warm into the green/safe temp.

Long story shortversion:
We bought (5) 5g buckets with lids from Home Depot and used the existing two buckets I already had and removed all of the rock and as much water into the buckets that we could. Then we moved the fish over to the 30g (existing tank). We took the buckets with LR and water and pour them into a 55g that I had in the garage of the new house. Then we put the tnak and stand into our truck bed and then put the all of the fish/inverts (from both tanks) into a 5g bucket and took them to the house. BTW - I put all of my shrooms into ziplock baggies and the xenia into a bucket.....We then moved all of the sand and rock from both tnaks into the 75g. and now we are just waiting for hte water to warm. Its been a long day........................The tank water is not anywhere near clear, but I can't leave my fish in the 5g bucket for too long.

Right now, i'm at the old place getting ready to head back to the new place to drink a coors light and check my water temp so that i can get my fish into their new home and I can go to bed.........

I hope that I have not made any of you mad at the way I moved my tank, but I have limited time and had real limited muscular help to make the move.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

I have had no casualties as of today. And my wife's angel looks healthier in the larger tank.

That remains to be seen. As a teen, I used to look at pain as a weakness leaving the body. Now, I see pain as pain and it hurts.

Going down a flight of stairs with the weight of a 75g plus about 60lbs of LS was quite painfull, but nothing a little Flexall 454 and several beers cant fix. Although he hasn't said it and he would never admit it, I think that my older brother is a little worse for the wear than myself.
