| Cabbage Leather | What causes coralline to turn white? I have a piece of LR placed right under one of my return lines to help displace the water. I just did a water change (30%) and the piece of LR that’s right under the inlet turned white? I used the same salt (IO) & left the salt mix up overnight.

| Cabbage Leather | exposure to air will turn coraline white when you did your water change did it bring your water level down that low

| Plate Coral ![]() | How are your calcium levels? Could they have dropped? Are you adding Kalk? Low calcium is one of the main reasons that coralline turns white.

| Cabbage Leather | After thinking about it a little more Several days before I did the water change I also re-worked my return line from my refugium which also left that same piece of LR out of the water for around another couple of hours. So the total time out of the water over a couple of days was about 4 hours! Now that I believe I figured out what caused it to turn white! Will it turn purple again?
