| Plate Coral | I use the magnets and the scraper to get the algae off the glass and for the most part it does a nice job. BUT, and Im sure it has happened to others, I have little green dots remaining on the glass...this i CANT scrape away - must be something calcified.....Im assuming this is a good thing. BUT, I dont mind it in the back of the tank but now its growing on the front as well. ANy tricks to get rid of it? Thanks again. AJ |

| Plate Coral | I have a plastic scraper and it got rid of all the algae except for those dots....then I got the metal attachment - and still i can t get rid of those dots in the front....but then again I have a bowfront so maybe because of the curve that I cant rid the glass of those dots. Plus its at the bottom so itll be hard to use a toothbrush or credit card. Oh well. |

| Totally stoked dude ![]() | Time to pull out the good ole algae scrubbin sponge. Get your hands wet and wipe it off. If you are intent on keeping the hands dry, get a heavy duty magnetic algae scraper, either mag float, or one of the better ones online. Thet'll take care of it for you. Even with the magnetic scrapper I still find the need to use a razor to scrape the coralline off the aquarium right along the edge of the silicone. Works faster than trying to get at it with the magnetic scraper. Mike

| Pistol Shrimp | I get those dots as well. I scrap piece of acrylic will scrape it off glass nicely. Or you can buy the Dawn Dish Scrubber (battery powered) at most stores for about $8 and it will take off anything on glass or acrylic. It eats up batteries, but really works. |

| Cabbage Leather | the small dots could also be in tiny pits in the glass i had that problem with my 180 i had to use a tooth brush like others have said but if it is pits in the glass you can be sure that the algae will always come back there first

| Reef Shark ![]() | Actually, if you have a good magnet cleaner, you can attach this stuff to the inside piece, and it will even take off coralline. https://www.micro-surface.com/defaul...at_Disp lay=A You can use it to buff out scratches in acrylic tanks too...Obviously, you want the very fine mesh unless you're polishing out deep gouges. A good friend uses this on a daily basis in her 240 acrylic tank, and it cleans algae & polishes the acrylic at the same time:
