I can smell the ocean Part 2

Heres the second version of my plumbing on my 50 breeder project and some observations.

1 A Mag24 plumbed with twin 1 inch feeds and returns is way too much flow for what I need . Its noisy and reminds me too much of Niagra Falls.
2 Mag 24's, when not watched for every second , can easily food rooms , more than once. Large towels should be very close at hand while testing plumbing setups.
3 Hardwood floors can warp slightly when flooded even if you "think" you got all the water. Use a fan when you think yourre done. Yourre never done !
4 Mag12's and 3/4 inch lines are much more controllable, quieter and will not flood your room "as fast".
5 Use more solvent then you think you need and wipe away excess to avoid small annoying leaks.
6 Priming ports are a good thing .
7 Starboard floats without rock holding it down.
8 When building a stand, assume the floor isnt level and compensate for it the first time.
9 DIY is fun but far from cheaper !
10 When yourre done , store all your extra PVC fittings in several buckets before opening up your own Home Depot.

Still loving the hobby though,

Peter

That's hilarious because it's so true.

I'm sorry you had a rough experience. I didn't even know that they made MAG24's. I'm sure someone will buy it from you though that has a bigger tank.

Great post. I'm sure someone will benefit from your experience.
