Talking Black and White Heniochus

I saw this fish...pretty neat looking fish. Spectacular like the moorish idol but much easier to care for.

Out of curiosity, do these fish have to be housed singly or in schools? Can you have two in the tank or theyll tear each other apart?

Anyone have this fish? I think it looks cool.

Hey AJ! I'll give you a brief run down on what I read. The can be kept in pairs or schools. However, they can reach a large size....some 9-10 inches, depending on species. Mojoreef has 3 Henis in his 1000gallon reef. I'm not sure how territorial they would get if confined in a system smaller than 100 gallons or so.

Ok - just pulled up this page, if you haven't read through this, maybe it will help...

Heniochus spp.

Thanks, Nikki. Im going to reread that link - so much info in there.

Nice looking fish. I think you can keep them with some of the "fleshy" corals but NOT with the hard ones like the plates, etc.
