| Plate Coral | Like everyone else I get green algae growing on my glass which I scrape away. Thats normal. Lately I have notices blotches of purple appearing on my live rock. I assume its coraline algae which is a very good thing, no? But I have also notices little bits of dark reddish blotches on my rock as well. Its not red slime though. Is this red blotches algae of some sort? I dont think its a good thing. Any ideas of what it is and perhaps what could be wrong with the chemistry of the water to be cauing this? Thanks. |

| Golden Moray | There are NUMEROUS species of coralline. Some of them are green, pink, and some are dark red. I don't have a pic but I'm guessing that this is a different strain.

| Golden Moray | Let me clarify....coralline algae is a GOOD sign of balanced chemistry. Quote:
