Good kalk reactor?/or DIY

Would like to get comments on what brands are good Kalk reactors. They seem to be a little pricey so I was thinking of maybe DIY. Would like to be able to go away for week or two and not have to worry about water top off. This will be going on a 90 gallon with 30 gallon sump. Any experiences with any brands are welcome, good, bad or otherwise. Thanks

Count me the Fourth vote for Stoneyreef. I have one of his Kalk reactors, and a new custom Calcium reactor on the way.
Great quality and cheap prices... you can't beat that.

I'll add a cote for two other companies.
myreefcreations.com makes an excllent unit that uses a magnetic stirrer which I am almost sold on. Pretty close in price to a full outfitted stoneyreef nilsen reactor. And also reeftek.com has a nice unit for very cheap, pump included.
There is one other unit I have also seen in action, however I can't remember who makes it right off hand. I will post when I remember.

Wow overwhelming support for the stoney reef. I htink thats what i will get since it seems to be working so good for eveyone else. Mps9506, Have read about the magnetic stirrers being a problem on some models designed like that. Is that so with the MRC reactor?

Not that I know of. I don't use it personally. You could give andy an email at myreef and let him give you his slaes pitch on his version of the reactor and decide for yourself.
I still haven't totally decided for myself yet. I've seen about 4 different makes and they all look great with solid construction.
Size, ease of maintence and ease of use should be primary concerns when choosing.
No doubt that every single model I've seen address those concerns.

That was the other model I have seen in person that I was quite impressed with. Just saw the banner, forgot he was a sponser here.
I would highly recomend www.geosreef.com in addtion, if not more so than the other models I mentioned. Competitve price too.
