Update on coris wrasse

Well now the poor guy isnt eating so now its really not looking good. One eye is now slightly cloudy.

He cant dig himself fully in the sand so the hippo thinks its a treat and is nipping at him like mad.

What does one do in a situation like this? Just let him die and get nipped? Isnt there a more humane way of putting the poor guy out of his misery.

Put the fish in a quarantine system. Make sure and add a sandbed for the fish. Then you can start to treat with medications.

Sorry to hear AJ. I got a coris myself, I have him since Feb of this year. They are beautiful fish and have a nice personality, you should get another one soon.

Are all the other fish healthy?

Luis

Thanks Luis. All the other fish appear healthy to me...I was just so surprised how this one tuook a turn for the worse so fast. I want to get 2 or 3 more and Ill ad them at the same time. They really are gorgeous fish.

Do your chromis' all school together? I have 2 of them was thinking of getting more so they can school but Im not sure if I really like the fish that much anyway.

Nice corals....do you wedge them in the rocks or do u use that apoxy glue?

Thankyou AJ

I use glue on frags and smaller colonies, dont use it on the larger colonies that are heavy enough to not be disturbed by oscilation from currents.

Yes they school, they are a showcase in the reef. The flame angel chases the school from time to time, and that is fun to watch. My friend Joe counted 35 or so a couple of weeks ago. It is also very cool to see them go to sleep as a group under the moonlights. Another factor that affects the direction in which they swimm is the currents from the TUNZE turbelles.

Disclaimer: I don't reccomend to stock a reef with fish the way I do it unless you have very good skimming, frequent water changes, refugium, adequate feeding and an UV sterilizer.

I wouldn't recommend the Yellow Coris Wrasse for those that keep shrimp in their tank. Mine was great in the beginning but eventually wiped out my shrimp and just had to go. They are some of the best swimmers I've seen and mine was an absolute pig at feeding time.

BTW Playa have I told ya how beautiful your tank looks ?
