Whaa! Live with it, buy her a nice MH pendant light for it, and be glad she's interested in some aspect of the hobby! Not much nicer than a nicely done planted tank...
Then, order a custom sump and call it even!

Sneak a load of salt in when she's not looking and tell her you can get these really beautiful corals and colourful fish for FW these days . . . . the Japs are cloning them you know

lol Brucey!

Reminds me of the time I got an 80 gallon tank and told wife it was the 55 she wanted me to get but she watched as I put the amount of water in the tank and it did not go well.

a freshy tank is nice,,,my other half has one, plus you have the advantage of seeing more than 3-4 fish in the tank. there is some work to it, but compared to a SW/reef,,,aint nothing.

let her have her tank,,,you can do lunch and go to the LFS together and have quality time. that will make her happy! remember the golden rule of relationships...you are only as happy as your wife is....if shes not...your not!

*Disclaimer*
i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~
