| Serpent Star | Smelly Fuge I did my water change today and decided to trim my Macro in the fuge and noticed that the flow is slower that usual. When I started moving things arond I noticed the sewer like smell coming from the fuge. I didn't see any dead animals in there but the smell was pretty strong. I increased the flow in the fuge and it is now slowly going away. Is that bad for the the fish and corals? I haven't seen anything unusual as far as critters' behavior. Any suggestions as to what should i do to prevent this from happening again. TIA Noel

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Clean/vacuum the fuge more often and put some carbon in there. Is there a DSB in it? If so, be careful stirring it up!!

| Serpent Star | There is some sand in there but I wouldn't consider it deep. I guess I will invest in a filter canister do maintenace with as far as that fuge is concern. Thanks for the replies. Noel

| Golden Moray | Rotting macroalgaes stink to the high heavens. Did you have any macros die. (Just another possibility).
