Ich at night

Does ich fall off an infected fish at night when the lights go out? If so, I bought a diatom filter that can trap free floating parasites such as ich. If the ich falls off when the lights go out, mabe I could run my diatom filter at night for an hour or two to see if that helps.

ich will never fall off, they will remain attach to the victims until they are mature and about to multiple themselves, maybe you could make use of that filter when the new born ich looking for another victims.

In fact, the reverse is almost true, Unless you've started dosing kalk yet the fish will appear more infected in the mornings after lights on. The ICH parasite doesn't like higher PH which tends to be higher during the day. As the day draws on you may notice the fish looking less infected, then during the night when PH is at it's lowest, the fish stress out and become more venerable to the parasite

ive noticed when my fish had ich in the past that it was always gone in the mornings also and i have come to the conclusion that the cleaner shrimp in the tank must be working on them while they are resting at night i might be wrong just my best guess of what was going on
