| Plate Coral | Yellow Coris Wrasse Ive had this fish for about 3 weeks....gorgeous fish. Anyway the fish seemed fine to me and has a tremendous appetite. ABout a week or so ago I noticed that its swimming looked a little funny....I thought maybe it was just howthe species swims and since his appetite was healthy I didnt think anything was wrong. It was swimming almost like it had no control on the back half of its body - almost like its paralyzed. Sometimes it would swim upside down like it was doing a headstand. But the last two days I noticed that when he buries himself in the sand he isnt totally submereged....I can see a little bit of his tail - before I could never find the fish anywhere. On top of this now he now has noticeable difficulty swimming and the back of its tail looks like its either rotting or perhaps has been nipped - Im not sure....he sometimes lies on his side too. But I just fed the fish and this wrasse is still eating which I would think is a good sign. The hippo tang, sensing weakness has tried to nip him a few times. ANyone know what this is? Is there any hope for this fish? It seems he has gotten significantly worse within a 24 hour period....any chance he will pull through? Thanks! AJ |

| Plate Coral | Thanks but Im still at a loss. The only thing is this fish's body seems to be curved a little more than usual. Or maybe wrasses are just shaped this way I dont know. Anyone have any idea what wrong with this fish and how I can treat it or is it a goner? Thanks again. AJ |

| Plate Coral ![]() | Any possible aggression from other fish? I'm sure that having its tail stick out of the sand may look like a treat to some.

| Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | No help here but my Yellow Choris is the strongest swimming fish in my tank. Gorgeous as you have seen but no other fish can catch it. Buries itself in the sand at night to sleep. ![]() Posting a picture would be most helpful!

| Plate Coral | I will try to get a pic....I hope he is ok...I have a feeling its a swim bladder disease.....if so, can he recover. He still has one hell of an appetite which is a good sign...he is just obviously having trouble.....he is struggling, but I can see he is a real fighter. But if it is the swim bladder, can he recover? Thanks. |
