| Bryozoan | Question about Nassarius Snails? Please Help Before I Make a Mistake! I just bought 240 Live Nassarius snails, i thought they were nassarius vibex but after i bought them i realized that they are not. They are Nassarius snails, just not the Nassarius Vibex. Do the snails have to be Nassarius vibex or is this kind alright? Does anyone know? I will paste a copy of the link of what i got to this thread. I have not received them yet, but they are coming either tomorrow or friday, so I kind of need an answer before they get here... Thank-you everyone! Here is the link? 120 LIVE Snails Nassarius for Saltwater Tank Cleaners - eBay (item 150346323305 end time Jun-16-09 16:22:03 PDT)

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: Question about Nassarius Snails? Please Help Before I Make a Mistake! Those are Illnassarius obsoletus. Great detritovours and they help keep your sand bed stirred up. They are larger and have a darker shell than the N. vibex do. They are found all along the atlantic coast. Seeing as how the seller is in SC I'm guessing he collected them locally and not from the LI Sound.

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: Question about Nassarius Snails? Please Help Before I Make a Mistake! I've collected them from the waters here in NJ and have had them in my tanks for 2+ years. Granted I run my tanks in the mid to upper 70's and not the upper 70's low 80's like most reefers do.

| Golden Moray | Re: Question about Nassarius Snails? Please Help Before I Make a Mistake! what ever you do..... I would heavly recommend your qt them all b4 adding 2 a tank. theres more then 100 chances to get a nice snail parasite, that will damaged your snail population later down the road, nice algae cover not to mention, who takes pictures of live stock outta the water that they are selling?
