| Plate Coral | Timer help - setting up lights Ok, so my nano has been set up for going on 6 months now and I still have yet to get the lights set up on a timer. I have tried what seems like a gazillion times, to no avail. I have separate LED's running and all I'm trying to do is set the day lights to come on at whatever time, and then when they shut off, have the LED's come on. At this time, I'm attempting to use an intermatic timer, since I have several laying around the house. I'm not opposed to using a digital timer, but for now would like to figure this out with what I have. I guess my main question is, do the lights need to be on or off when I first set and plug the timer in? Seriously, I'm totally lost here Any help would be beyond appreciated!

| Neon dottyback | Re: Timer help - setting up lights What I did (also using intermatic timers) was plug the lights into the timer shortly before you want them to come on, have the timer in the off cycle, and when the time comes that you want the lights to turn on, gently turn the ring on the face of the timer just enough to click the lights on. Then it should be good to go, mine have kept excellent time for the past month. |

| Neon dottyback | Re: Timer help - setting up lights I had my lights off, then plugged the timer in in the off position. Then flipped the swith to turn the light on, of course no power going to it so they stay off. Then as the timer switches to the on position, wham lights on!
