Very Very discouraged.

I've tried everything in my power. I've sunk a ton of money and time to baby this tank all the way and what do I get for my effort? Algae that just will not go away.
I thought for my hard work I would get rewarded. But instead I keep on getting punished. What have I done to deserve all this? As the Economy keeps getting worse it seems that this happens when you don't have the funds to battle the tank with. So it leads into the tank having to wait until payday.
So the problems keep progressing and the Algae keeps reblooming over and over. It has just about took the xenias life. What to do? Please advise me with all your knowledge.

Thanks

Well, i dont know anything about your tank maybe others dont as well, can you tell us some stuff about it? if its all been said before can you link me to it?

Lighting: what type? how old are the bulbs? how long are the lights on a day? is the tank by a window?
Tank: How big is it? how longs has it been up? Whats the circulation like? Do you have a UV sterilizer? whats the filtration like?
Whats in the tank? Do you have a good CUC?
What are your params? i think nitrates + phosphates cause mass algae blooms? someone chime in to correct me if im wrong please!
cant think of anything else at the moment...

Re: Very Very discouraged.

my only other question after all those would be how much are you feeding? Algae battles are rarely won in a quick battle, but they can be easily won if we know where the problem lies.

Re: Very Very discouraged.

Agree...the only other questions I would ask are:

What is you water source? Do you use RODI, distilled, premade SW, or tap water?
What do you feed, how much, and how often?
What is your maintenance schedule?

There is obviously some source of nitrates/phosphates. Got to nail that down, and eliminate them. The good thing is, eliminating nuisance algae takes far more patience than it does money. ;-)
