| Serpent Star | Frequency of Testing Is there a general rule for when to test the water? I'm sure with reefing you want to stay on top of things and test the water at the same time of day every week?. The reason I'm asking is because I'm gearing up for reefing and my tank currently is a FOWLR. I believe the last time I tested the water was to to know when I was done cycling. That was 2005. I've never lost anybody except if they were someone's dinner. *I'm knocking on wood now* Time to get out of bad habits? Thanks, Wai... ooooo... i didn't know we had Guinness on tap! ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: Frequency of Testing I agree with that. As often as possible early on. Also test mixed water before water changes and chart results and variations between mix water and tank. Once your tank is stable and up and running 6 months to a year you can back off testing somethings a bit. Calcium uptake for example becomes somewhat predictable.
