| Scopas Tang | Have I done The Right Thing? Ok well i have got two protien skimmer on there way to me as we speak. One is an AKS SV12 which had a great review written about in on RC a little while ago. I Also have an AKS BioSkim2000 Standard Module. This is supposedly a "full Saltwater filtration system but i will be using it for the skimmer and running carbon or other materials. The question i give to you is that these skimmers individually are not addiquate but together are rated for a larger tank then mine. Is there a probablem with doing this? I figured that this way if one pump was to fall and the skimmer be therefore out of action for a while whilst i order in a new pump i would still have the other one going. I ahve the room so i figured it cant hurt. AKS are an Australian company and have heard nothing but praise about them. Did i do the right thing? Tosh

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | I don't see anything wrong with it - the only thing I would envision is more energy consumption than you'd have with one larger skimmer. Other than that, redundancy is usually a good thing.

| Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | I agree with Teri! Had a Bak Pak II and a Seaclone 150 running until the BPII crapped out. With a regular water change schedule you shouldn't over skim your water of important things. ![]()
