No i'm not that good lol. No i started this thread because lack of this kind of info on rockwork was frustrating so i gathered all kinds of pics from various places and sites, to help myself and others in their desing of their future tank. Lots of concept out there but scattered all over, so i here they are, got more but too much to put all at once . By the way if you see some great or unusual aquascupture , copy it and paste it here. Your work too, we can't get enough of ideals here, keep the thread alive, thanks.

Marco Rock is artificial rock. IMO base rock is ocean rock that has been left to dry. I suppose it means different things to different people so we should be more specific there.

No problem , that was my goal, to inspired and motivate people. Like i said earlier, its an aspect of the trade that people seem to underestimate or run through as quickly as possible. And its a process which the result will be basicaly in our face for a while. Lighting and water flow seem more important to people. But like i said your flow will depend on the rockwork you have and the lighting surface as well. And having gone through 62 different sites very few are promoting rockwork as an important phase of the set up process, so i did a thread in the hope it becomes pop and maybe a sticky...some day lol thanks to all and enjoy . Still got a few surprises left.Leaving soon for a trip will continue to post after. keep the thread going with your pictures, trials ( your failiures are as important to us, we need to know what doesn't work too) and of course your success, and if you see something, a desing, a plan,or an how to do, with a link post it here, keeps the thread relevent and up to date, its not only my thread it your as well you know bye.

Re: RockWork

First of Basile GREAT Work

I'm enjoying this thread and my wife may come hunting you down if I have to re-scape my tank after a year now LOL!

Be careful with FOAM! There are several reefers (some members here) who have had MASSIVE Algae out-breaks that all have one common factor... FOAM for scaping! It's not known yet exactly what IS causing this but it seems the foam is the one common denominator. It's not official because as you know some others have had NO problems. Just make sure anyone who uses FOAM is fore-warned at least to the potential to issues.

Again GREAT thread

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!
