Vitamin & Amino Acid Supplemet

This product was recommended to me by a very knowledgeable fellow reefer and I just dosed 50% recommended amount and my skimmer's efficiency went through the roof!! I had to lower the water level by 3 inches and foam quality is amazing!!

My question is, is the skimmer taking out the product, or has it actually improved the efficiency of the skimmer?

Any carbon source will typically make the skimmer go nuts. Supposedly it does result in better skimming but in the process also takes some of the product out.

I use Reef Plus daily in my reef and it is a great product.

If you are adding the product to your overflow don't do it because if your skimmer is in the sump, part of the liquid will be removed by the skimmer. I don't think that it improves the skimmer efficiency. I add the liquid to the sump after the skimmer chamber. That way there is a dilution of the liquid in the tank and the reaction in the skimmer is minimal.

Would it be possible to turn your skimmer off for a few minutes, add the product, let is circulate, and then turn the skimmer bank on?

Other sites have referred to vit C as a carbon source, so I assume this would be too.
