| Star Polyps | Shrimp Cocktail Added 2 cleaner shrimp ($20 each) to my tank yesterday, within 5 minutes my Purple Dottyback had eaten one of them. I thought the other might make it but an hour later he is nowhere to be found and I have one fat Dotty on my hands. I should have just taken the Dotty out for a nice steak dinner, would have been cheaper and I wouldn't feel bad for sending the shrimp to their demise. I try to make sure I research before I buy. Not sure if this was bad research or bad luck but that was one expensive lesson. Little b@$&@*d!!! ![]() |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Shrimp Cocktail Well, don't feel bad since it is just nature but it was likely more the size of the shrimp than anything else. I had the same issue once with my tang and several peppermint shrimp. Two bites and they were gone. Next time try to get larger shrimp and add them after lights out when the fish have settled down for the night. An expensive lesson but one many of us have learned.
