Re: Biocube 29. corals with stick lights?

I'd stick with your lower light lovers.... you could probably do FrogSpawn, Mushrooms, Xenia, Leathers, Zoas, Green Star Polyps etc.

32w of light isn't a lot of light espeically for a 29G tank. Stay with the EASY corals and you'll do well.

Also if you have the time and can commit to daily hand feeding you can try the NON light needing SunCoral. Each polyp needs to be hand fed to ensure long term success of the coral.

Another FAVORITE of mine is the Duncan (Duncanopsammia axifuga). The Duncans have some VERY nice texture and give good movement to the tank. They can do well under low light (Not DARK though) situations and can benefit from occasional direct feedings.

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

As Al said, that's an awfully small amount of light for a 29. I have 130 watts of PC over my 29. I'd look into upgrading

Why? Because it just causes arguments and like ethics there is no correct answer, only opinions.
