Re: Green Coraline

I don't have a personal pic, but here's a pic from the web. Pretty much what it looked like in my tank.

Re: Green Coraline

My rock started with Green coraline but over the course of less than a month it went purple. Different colors usually take different light levels. A girl here local was always "bragging" about her "Green Coraline" and when we did a tank tour it wasn't coraline at all but another type of algae that was being "maintained" by her snails.

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: Green Coraline

Thanks for posting that pic, I clicked on this thread because we have stuff growing next to our coraline, it looks exactly the same (shape, size, formation) as the purple. I had just assumed ir was algae, I had no idea green coraline existed. I still don't know if that is what we have...but interesting post.

Re: Green Coraline

it seems to grow just like coralline, and i have a piece of purple/pink coralline on my glass which i periodically use to seed my tank, and any time my snails go over it they can't eat it off the glass and this green stuff is just the same way... the snails can't eat it.
