| Achilles Tang | Will RO/DI water foul??? i just borrowed my girlfriends fathers RO/DI unit to make some water for my tank. i made 55 gallons and put it into a 55g drum. since i am only going to be using it at about 5-10g a week do i have to worry about it fouling up??? |

| Plate Coral | Re: Will RO/DI water foul??? If its a plastic drum I wouldn't worry about it. Water will pretty much store indefinetly if it is sealed , unless something is contaminating it. Even if its saltwater and not just RO, the timeframe your talking about should be fine if you keep it mixed.

| Plate Coral | Re: Will RO/DI water foul??? Is it just open on top? If it is dust and random stuff from the air will settle into it. Depending on where the drum is stored it could degrade water quality. Think of when you dust a shelf....all that stuff will be in the water. If its just a small round opening of like a few inches like on most drums just cover it with a book or something. If the whole drum is open top just cover it with some cellophane or whatever you can think of.
