Re: what can i use to get rid of detritus

Be sure to check out (like Teri said) our sponsor ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae - Home and fill out the Custom CUC form. John will email you back with suggestions. I'm ALL about buying local but I bought a HUGE CUC from them for what I could have gotten maybe a dozen snails for locally. His shipping is perfect and he stands behind his products. I don't think you can go wrong unless you don't check them out. They are a great company to work with.

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!
Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Maybe do a "group buy" from reefcleaners.org ? I really need to add to my CUC.

Honestly I think you'll be shocked at his prices. I added in excess of 200 "Critters" to my tank last year for what maybe 2 dozen would have cost (including the s/h). You can't go wrong with them.

is it safe to try and siphon it out when doing a water change or will the sand get sucked up??

Re: what can i use to get rid of detritus

you really can't ship to multiple addresses in this one. Usually a "Group Buy" you just get a good price because so many people are ordering at once. The Vendor usually initiates something like that. It works on skimmers, lights, pumps etc.

Something like (Live animals) you'd want to go together with a local reefer and have it all shipped to one location.

Yeah you can "siphon gently" and with practice you'll be able to get some up without too much sand. Don't "Poke/Dig" down into the sand though.
