Crab ID

Can anyone tell me what it is? Is it safe? I didn't put him in. He must have came from the rock.

It looks a little like a Mithrax crab, but I'm not certain. Have you witnessed its behavior at all? Does it scrape algae from the rock?

Not all Mithrax crabs are green - some are brown or black. Where is the crab now? Still in the display, or a sump or 'fuge?

Maybe someone will jump in with a more positive ID. Until then, I'd probably play it safe and keep him in the sump, 'tho I do think he looks relatively "innocent". He doesn't have those large/serrated front claws that are typical of predatory crabs.
