What to put into a wet dry filtration

I have a tidepool 2 module of a wet dry function that was given to me and i know not to put bio balls and bio wheel in the wet dry filtration, but what are you suppose to do right now i have one box for carbon the other two filter pads and then at the bottom i have live rock is that how you are suppose to do it. I have all sorts of sizes ranging from large to rubble but it is completly submerge. what should i put in there if that is not the right way to go.

Re: What to put into a wet dry filtration

Chrome has the right idea, chaeto is the way to go. Also, there has been talk of running pulsing xenia in the fuge as another way of nutrient export, plus when its time to "thin the field" you can always trade them into a LFS for some store credit. Im contemplating running it in my fuge, but its really small and the light is freaking weak
