Adding livestock

Good Morning.....

Ok i have been cycling my tank for about 4 weeks now. I have had a bloom of yellowish colored algae. Thanks to your guys help, I have gotten control of that. Now I want to know if I can add livestock and if so, what should I start with. Can I start putting in corals, or should I put some sort of cleaning crew in to clean up the algae?

My set-up:

55gal
400 w MH light
50 lbs base rock with some seed rock
25 lbs live sand
prism protein skimmer
two power heads
heater

Conditions:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 5 ppm
Nitrate: 10-15 ppm
ph - 8.0

Thanks again for any assisstance.

Rob

Re: Adding livestock

You will need to wait to add livestock until the nitrIte level is zero.

Re: Adding livestock

I agree with Woodstock... Give it a little bit longer.. It looks to be on the down slide... Another week or 2...

Re: Adding livestock

Thank you all for your help. I will let it continue to cycle for another couple of weeks. As far as clean up crews, what should I start with and how long do I need to wait until I start adding corals or fish?
