Re: OMG emergency help!

Don't jump right to a drip.
First you are on the right track with the re-test.
As far as I know Calcium level is not necessarily related to xenia pulsing so they may not be related at all.
The first thing you want to do is get solid numbers for your ph, calc, alk, and mag. Then use the links in the stickies in the chemistry forum to find out how to adjust what needs to be adjusted. Unless you have a bunch of hard corals or other high calcium animals the ionic balance is much more important and what you should work on first. Once you obtain the levels you want then you can talk about setting up a drip to maintain those parameters.

Re: OMG emergency help!

Did re test an it is that low. And I think its always been that low bc I let lfs test this and I think they have been cheating me out and just saying its all ok. bad move on my part. My ph is monitored by a device an its 8.1-8.2. I do not have my alk test yet. What should I do?

Re: OMG emergency help!

xenia is prolly the least likely to be affected by low calcium.

Re: OMG emergency help!

We can help you but it won't give you the context needed to understand this complex topic. I'd suggest you read this to get a basic understanding of reef chemistry, then ask questions about what you don't understand.
