I had the same problem with my tank. After 2 early attempts, I gave up on xenia. Recently though I have been successful, after my tank was set up for 2 years.

it was in a 24 gallon with a 70w MH it was a new tank so not the best water quality

Hmm IDK, mine is only a 12.5 gal, with 2 fish, and T5's, my xenia both pulsing and blue (which I just sent SCOTT a frag LOL). both grow like weeds.

i have 9 frags of Xenia!!! my tank is a little over a month setup with me ( i bought it used ) and all of my Xenias are thriving, i saved 6 of them from near death at the LFS! i also only have Power Compact lighting.
my dad tried to keep them many times, he has T5s and good water, but they all die. its pretty simple, some tanke will grow a weed, other will kill it right away

I actually had the same exact problem. I tried xenia twice and both times they just melted away. I just tried xenia again two weeks ago after looking up its tank placement. That was my problem. You need good flow on it. Not completely pounding though. And good light.

I have it in High Flow... Medium Flow and LOW flow... It's growing out of the tank (literally trying to at least)

It's doing great! BTW, I didn't experiment on your frag, I already had some Pom-Pom xenia that had been in my tank a couple of weeks before I got your frag. That's how I knew I could be successful with your baby!
