Emergency! Need quick help!

I was cleaning my tank doing a water change and what not. I forgot to unplug the heater and as I was filling it back up...POP the heater shatters! There is glass in the back chamber but I am not too worried about that! What I am worried about is an electrical current! Do u think I will get electrocuted if I stick my hand in the tank!?! I am going now to buy a new heater but is the tank and everything gonna be ok? Everything in the tank now looks good but it just happened 10 minutes ago!

Re: Emergency! Need quick help!

if the heater is out, you should be able to stick your hand in the tank no problem, just watch out for the glass

Re: Emergency! Need quick help!

as long as you unplugged the heater then you will be fine. Its not like the electricity is sitting there waiting for you to stick your hand in.

yeah, a healthy respect for electricity and water is a good thing! You will be fine now though with it unplugged and out of the water.
