| switching tanks and lighting questions Hi everyone, i had a few questions i was wanting to throw out for any sort of input. currently i have a 25 gal. sw FOWLR, about 30 lbs. of rock. inhabitants include 2 perculas and a lawnmower blenny. i couldn't resist the urge to upgrade so i took my 72 gal fw tank i had, drained it, moved the inhabitants (not in that order haha), thuroughly cleansed the inside and set it up again sw. right now i have live sand, some crushed coral, and about 50 lbs of live rock in it. my main question is this: on a few pieces of live rock in the 25, i have several anenome-like things growing, about 1-2 inches tall, and i wanted to know if the different lights in the new tank would affect them? the lights in the 25, by the way lights for both tanks are just standard lights, no compact or VHO, seem to give off more of a white light that makes my tank look more yellow or earthy toned. in the 72, the lights are more towards the blue end of the spectrum giving a more bright and vibrant tank. is this going to affect the little things? i was thinking that i could use both lights on the new tank if they needed the original lights more. i still have about another 2 weeks before i am going to make the switch, so i am still debating.
another question i had was, i have noticed that several of these are moving around towards the same rock, is it okay if i just pick them up and place them on the rock when i make the move, or should i just leave them alone and strategically place them in the new tank? thanks everyone for the help, i really appriciate it. |
