Will this skimmer fit?

I am trying to get a new skimmer for a customer, but we are limited on space in her sump. The sump is and Oceanic Reef Ready Model 1. The skimmer I am looking at ordering is a Fission Power Protein Skimmer. You can check it out at www.thatpetplace.com. The dimensions on the skimmer are L-12'', H-20'', W-5''. Now, I knoe the stand is tall enough, but what exactly are they meaning by 12'' length? Are they meaning the pump and all or what? That sump is only 12.5'' wide. The compartment for the skimmer is small. Please help. Info greatly appreciated.

Odd way to state it IMO but I believe that they are describing a 12" footprint.

I just pulled out the ASM Mini G skimmer. It is taller than the Fission Power and the diameter is almost 15'', but its ''foot'' (base) is only about a 5'' x 3''.

Thanks for the link. I believe it will fit don't you? Did u get a chance to look at the Oceanic Reef Ready Sump Model 1? That middle compartment for the skimmer has got me pressed for space.

As long as you have a 12" x 6" space/area, you should be fine.
