Reef Con 2000 & Misc.

Hello, Just let me start by saying you guys and gals are my heros, YOur tanks are awesome and your info in invaluable.
I have grown up since my last post, LOL In the past the connection here has been dinosaur dial up. I would post a question, and never be able to get back to where it was to view the answers.
Now I have a much better connection and will be able to use this site more effectively.

I found a program called reefcon 2000. anyone heard or familiar with it? It seems pretty good but lacks a few things. I would like to use a program to track things in my tank, so any feedback would be great.

I am still struggling with some of the things in my tank especially patience, which I lost! I have purchased a bunch of frags for my tank, thinking that they would be big pretty specimines, only to find out that my poor old eyes that need a magnifying glass for everything, now also needs a magnifying glass to see these little fellas in my 55 gallon tank.

I now have a full tank pretty much and realized with my magnifying glass held to the side of the tank that my eyes are either getting worse or something has eaten the polyps.

I spoke the my Coral store, and he asked about bristle worms. I have seen some, in fact Ive seen snakes in that tank. He made me a trap of clear pvc with some filter floss in each end. He said to put the bait in the middle and place it in where Ive seen them, wait till dark and they would come out into the tube. Within 3 minutes here came on of those pesky things with the lights on. I musta spooked him cause he retracted to the rocks. as another snake was ontop of the rocks. I tried to grab him with tweezers but missed.

I reset the trap and went to bed. When I peaked for a sec this morning, there was no bait in the trap and NO worms. I havent had a chance to evaluate the tank for eaten things, but im on my way in there now to check it out with my coffee and magnifier!

I also figured out a way to float my corals in my tank like the fish store does for attatching them without having them in the bottom of the tank. I would like to post pics later and see if anyone is interested in our making them. they are primitive but I have not seen them sold, they work great for alot of things.

sorry to ramble hope tohear from someone soon!

thanks friends,
Kim

Inspection time of the reef in a fast hurry!!

Re: Reef Con 2000 & Misc.

when you add your livestock, there is a spot where you can see the picture etc. do you see anywhere in the program to add your own images. there seem to be alot of blanks in some pretty common species. I would love to figure it out. there is also an updater for it. did yours pick up any updates to bring the info more current than 2000?? Guess I could write the maker but why when I can meet new people and learn the program together. LOL
