Good RO/DI for under $150 Shipped

well i want to buy a decent RO/DI . i dont need no Super Duper Fancy 7 Stage 150 Gpd Twin stage Di system . my city water is around 167-195 TDS .

I would like a decent 4-5 Stage with Vertical DI stage That is atleast 50 GPD and has a rejection rate of 97-98% or higher .

i like this one any one tried it ? Bulk Reef Supply ?

any others under $150 Shipped ?

Also anyone tried the Ebay 6 stage ? but has horizontal DI is it refillable ?

i will stay away from these unless i hear good feedback ,

Thanks ,
Jason

Re: Good RO/DI for under $150 Shipped

I'm pretty sure I paid around $150 for my 5 stage Air Water Ice unit... Actually it was $149 plus shipping, but its a great unit. Does nearly 100gpd. Lots of people on RS use this unit

Something else to consider while researching

If your on city water system you should take a look at their water quality report to see if they utilize chloramines.

I'm currently researching for a RODI to purchase and hoping save as much $ as possible while still finding an adequate product. After checking my cities water report on the web and noticing they use chloramines I now have to make sure I only consider systems that address chloramine removal.

I thought all RO/DI do that?
I've never had a problem with either of mine and chloramines and thr original one is just RO.

They do.

Here is the unit I've been using for 3 years without a hitch and have recommended it to many reefers who report the same results, about $140 shipped. AQUA-SAFE Maximus II 100 GPD RO/DI WATER FILTER

I guess I'm still a bit confused on the Chlorine and Chloramine thing. I'll do some more reading before I buy my unit.

Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia in tap water. Supposedly most decent rodi's are sufficient remove Chloramines but it will clog the carbon filters at a faster rate opposed to a water supplies that only uses chlorine for disinfecting purposes.

If you care to read more about it heres a link to an article in Reefkeeping magazine

sorry for hijacking your thread.
