Re: Can I put this in my tank?

I wouldn't. You never know what they are coming with. Also i believe they are a cold water species. They probably won't do good and pollute the system when they die.

Re: Can I put this in my tank?

If those are caught from around your area they are "cold water" mussels and will die and polute your warm water system.

Re: Can I put this in my tank?

As weird as this sounds I had a baby one in my tank for a while, it came on some of the liverock i got with the tank deal. It lived for a while but i didnt notice it until the rock had been out of water for some time and it had died, but i still thought it was interesting. It was really really small though, about the size of a nickle but a little longer, if that makes any sense
