| Midas Blenny | is this ich i have an angelfish tat 2 days ago began getting white dots on her body, i thought it was ich, but when i came home from work, the dots had dissapeared, but todat inthe morning they are back, the lfs guy says it is not ich, he thinks that are small pieces of sand that get attached to her body at night. it is strange cause the spots are onlu present at night or early in the morning and then dissapear, they are all over her body, includding her eyes. she is eating fine, and no changes on her behavior what is it

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | It's a good possibility that it is ick and the fish are scratching them off during the day. If possible watch the fish throughout the day and see if they are scratching a lot.

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | If they aren't scratching and otherwise in good health, then I wouldn't worry about it. They may well have been sleeping in the sand and a few grains have attached to them. Don't panick and treat the tank unless you know for certian there is a problem.

| Reef Sanctuary's Mr. Wizard ![]() | It sounds to me like you have that rare very short cyclic form of ick. I have only seen it twice in 35 years. The fish only get infected at night usually and come moring it is gone. You can almost time it when it is on and off. I hope there are no tangs in this tank. And yes ick can infect the eyes, to include FW fish. You better hope this strain of ick does no take off and infect the other fish if you have any oryou will be in big trouble. A tang won't last more than a day or two. The solution to the problem is to wait 3-4 hours after it seems to be all gone of the fish and then remove them from the tank and then dipped in a fresh mix of SW (a rinsing) and put in another tank for a week or so. And hope it works, it did for me. It is up to you if you just want to watch or do something about it. I doubt it is sand, it is a angel. Are you sure it is not just air bubbles
